Construction Process

Can I request project updates via text or email instead of phone calls?

Yes, generally — most contractors can genuinely accommodate your preferred communication method, whether that’s phone, text, or email, particularly for routine updates rather than urgent, time-sensitive matters.

Being upfront about your communication preference early in the project helps set this expectation clearly, rather than assuming your contractor will automatically know or default to a specific method.

For genuinely urgent matters (a weather-related schedule change happening same-day, for instance) a phone call may still be the most practical approach even if you generally prefer text or email for routine updates.
