Does a house slab need to be re-inspected years after construction?

There’s no mandatory re-inspection schedule for a house slab once it’s built and passed its original certification — a properly designed and poured slab is intended to perform for the life of the building.

That said, it’s genuinely worth having a slab professionally assessed if you notice new cracking, doors and windows sticking, or visible movement, or before a major renovation that adds load to the existing foundation.
