Plain & Coloured Concrete
Does plain concrete need a different reinforcement spec to coloured concrete?
Genuinely, no — reinforcement is driven by structural requirements (load, span, application) rather than colour, so a plain and coloured slab in the same application need essentially identical reinforcement.
Colour is purely a surface and mix-additive decision, not a structural one, so it doesn’t change what your engineer specifies for reinforcement.
