Building Permits
Can a building permit be refused after a soil report is submitted?
A soil report itself doesn’t directly cause a refusal — but if it reveals conditions your original design didn’t account for, your building surveyor can genuinely require the design to be revised and re-certified before the permit is issued.
This is exactly why the soil report is commissioned early, before final design and permit lodgement, rather than after — catching a genuine issue at that stage is far less disruptive than after a permit application is already underway.
