Does a waffle slab need a different termite treatment to a raft slab?

The treatment principle is the same — a chemical or physical termite barrier installed as part of the slab system — but the void beneath a waffle slab’s pods genuinely needs its own careful barrier detailing, different to a raft slab’s solid, largely void-free underside.

Both are genuinely effective when installed correctly to the National Construction Code’s requirements — the difference is in the installation detail, not the level of protection achieved.
