Calculating Mesh Sheet Quantity

Reinforcement mesh comes in standard sheets, most commonly 6 m × 2.4 m, giving a full sheet area of 14.4 m². When sheets are laid across a slab, adjoining sheets need to overlap — a standard side lap and a longer end lap — so the effective coverage per sheet is less than its full area. This calculator uses an effective coverage of 13.5 m² per sheet to account for typical laps, then divides your total slab area by that figure and rounds up to give a realistic sheet count.
