Calculating Concrete Volume
This is the simplest and most frequently needed calculation in concreting: length (m) × width (m) × depth (m), with your depth entered in millimetres and converted automatically. It works for slabs, paths, footings or any rectangular pour.
Because concrete trucks cannot always deliver the exact volume ordered, and because minor formwork variation is common on site, the calculator adds a 5 per cent allowance to give you a recommended order volume. It also converts your volume into an approximate weight using standard concrete density of 2.4 tonnes per cubic metre, which is useful context if you are researching haulage or handling requirements.
