The Role of Agricultural Drains

An agricultural drain (a perforated pipe, typically wrapped in geotextile fabric to prevent silt blockage) runs along the base of the drainage zone behind the wall, collecting water that moves through the free-draining backfill and carrying it to a discharge point — stormwater, a soakage pit, or another appropriate outlet depending on the site.
